Hmmmmmm.... what to say here?
Well I'm an Electronics Tech Officer by trade, with many side interests due to growing up on a farm. I can turn my hand to areas such as mechanics, carpentry, and metalwork and I enjoy them as a break from computers and technology. Between my work and personal travel I drive between 90 and 120,000kms every year so I am generally a bit hard to track down.
I guess I could be called an insomniac as I generally only sleep 2-3 hours most nights, but this leaves me plenty of time to do what I enjoy.
I'm an avid 4WDer and whenever I can, I disappear bush to getaway from it all for as long as possible in my trusty old Cruisasaurus. The Cruisasaurus is an '86 Landcruiser Turbo Diesel LWB. I've had him for 8 years and we've gone from 210,000kms to nearly 700,000kms on the clock and still going strong.
I'm a pretty relaxed bloke who is pretty hard to annoy as I tend to let things slide a bit too much and usually find it easy to see the other side of the discussion. I guess my faith has a lot to do with my outlook on life and how I relate to those around me. Some of my friends who are non-Christian say I could relax more but I'm pretty happy with the balance I have. Those same friends admit they know that, at least when I go out with them, they won't end up in a blue, or done for something like drink-driving, as I tend to get 'em to pull their heads in before it gets out of hand.
My warped sense of humour runs all sorts of things from Monty Python to The Scared Weird Little Guys to David Strassman and all sorts between.
I am a firm believer in "If you can't laugh at it all you'll just end up crying, so laugh often!" (yeah I know I've bodged it but it's my philosophy so phffft!)
I'm an avid (some say mad) reader and my collection of books is one reason I dread the idea of moving ever again. When you measure your books by ute load for moving you know it is a problem! My interests are many...... SF, fantasy, adventure, mystery, real life drama, crime, historical..... almost anything except horror or pulp. Whenever I am 4WDing I'll have some books with me and enjoy sitting under the stars by the campfire reading a book whenever my mates have retired to their swags or when I am away on my own.
One of my new interests is online comics. There are so many good ones out there and some of my favourites are listed below.
Count Your Sheep, DMFA, Doc Rat, Doemain, Dandy and Co, Freefall, Jack(approach with caution), Kevin and Kell, Newshounds, Ozzy and Millie, Roomies, Sheldon, Suburban Jungle, Unshelved, Starslip Crisis, Code Name:Hunter
